FROM STONE TO GLASS

The “From Stone to Glass” project, led by Salomé Maarek, proposes a revolutionary method of coloring glass using natural minerals from local rocks, offering a sustainable alternative to chemical and toxic methods. Working with geologists and minimizing environmental impact, Salomé has developed a palette of varied colors from stones offering an appearance such as Moldavite green or turquoise blue. The resulting glass is highly resistant, capable of withstanding thermal and physical shock, and could be used by industries such as luxury bottles, tinted glass or jewelry. The project has won several awards and been published in leading magazines, underlining its impact in the field of sustainable design. This eco-responsible, gem-like glass combines aesthetic luxury with sustainability, paving the way for environmentally-friendly large-scale production.
